Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently supporting the organizational objectives by keeping equipment maintained and repaired to satisfactory conditions. The maintenance technician is a key asset on the production floor to ensure equipment is repaired and restored to production, and to plan predictive and preventive maintenance initiatives for the facility.

Job Description

  • - Conducts routine inspections of machinery, automation and utilities that are fundamental to production
  • - Completes repairs and maintenance to machinery and utility systems as required.
  • - Troubleshooting of all mechanical and minor electrical systems.
  • - Preventive Maintenance of all manufacturing equipment
  • - Support role for contractors
  • - Supports production system output, providing on call and after hours support if required to support business objectives.
  • - Documents daily maintenance and PM log reports and completes all necessary paperwork that pertains to this position.
  • - Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order and reports major issues to the Operations and Maintenance Manager.
  • - Maintains and organizes the spare parts areas, ensuring that adequate spare part inventory is upheld.
  • - Conducts daily checks of utility system and ensures equipment is operating at key levels.
  • - Coordinates contractors as required to provide support assistance when necessary.
  • - Provides schedule change vacation coverages for the injection molding division if requested.
  • - Listens and positively reacts to concerns of the production departments and participates in root cause corrections.
  • - Supports conversions of molds and inserts when requested.
  • - Active participation in the Health and Safety program.
  • - Must adhere to the Company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • - Ensures the plant is maintained at a high standard of housekeeping.
  • - Performs other duties for the benefit of the Company as required.

Qualifications

  • - Knowledge & familiarity with a high-speed manufacturing environment an asset.
  • - Processing: ability to follow a logical sequence of steps to ensure efficiency and determine root cause analysis.
  • - Operation Monitoring: watching gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • - Troubleshooting; determine causes of operating errors and making decisions about next action step.
  • - Mechanical; knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, and maintenance
  • - Reasoning: ability to perform basic mathematical calculations without a calculator or other tool.
  • - High school diploma or equivalent, addition education or technical certifications preferred.
  • - Strong communication skills, (speaking, reading, writing in english)
