Job Description

• Key Responsibilities
• Song Sourcing & Creative A&R:
• - Actively scout, curate, and pitch original tracks, toplines, and concepts tailored to specific K-pop artist briefs (spanning Pop, Hip-Hop, EDM, R&B, and Rock).
• - Organize, host, and facilitate US and international song camps and creative retreats.
• - Analyze global music market trends, chart data, and sound evolutions to provide proactive music direction.
• Roster & Creator Relations:
• - Build and maintain a strong network of US and international producers, songwriters, lyricists, arrangers, and publishing executives.
• - Manage creator outreach, pitch briefs, fee negotiations, and project assignments in coordination with Business Affairs.
• Music Production & Quality Control (QC):
• - Oversee recording, vocal tuning, editing, mixing, and mastering processes for assigned global releases.
• - Conduct rigorous Quality Control (QC) on final audio assets to meet top-tier commercial release standards.
• - Coordinate vocal comping, multi-track delivery, and session file transfers between US studios and Seoul HQ.
• Cross-Border Project Management:
• - Collaborate closely with internal sub-labels and A&R teams in Korea to ensure creative alignment and timely project delivery.
• - Prepare detailed creative pitch decks, reference playlists, and production timelines.

Qualifications

• - Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience in A&R, Music Production, Music Publishing, or Record Label operations within the US music industry.
• - K-Pop Expertise: Must be deeply familiar with K-Pop music, including its production trends, song structures, vocal stylings, and global market dynamics.
• - Network: Demonstrated, active relationships with music publishers, song pluggers, independent producers, and topliners.
• Technical Expertise:
• - Deep technical understanding of the music recording process, vocal tuning/comping, mixing dynamics, and mastering standards.
• - Working knowledge of Digital Audio Workstations (Pro Tools, Logic Pro) and studio workflows.
• Music Market Knowledge:
• - High-level understanding of both Western pop markets and global music dynamics.
• - Versatility across genres: Pop, Dance/Electronic, Urban/Hip-Hop, and Alternative Rock.
• Languages:
• - Business fluency in English (required).
• - Proficiency in Korean (verbal and written) is a strong advantage due to frequent communication with Seoul HQ.
• Preferred Qualifications
• - Prior experience working on cross-border / Asian-Western co-productions or song pitch projects.
• - Hands-on experience with A&R administration, including split sheet tracking, sample clearances, and producer credits.
• - Ability to work flexibly across US and Seoul time zones when required.
