Job Summary

Our client is seeking a highly analytical SAR / Transaction Monitoring (TM) Analyst. This role is designed for a BSA professional who will primarily manage daily Transaction Monitoring (TM) alerts while conducting comprehensive investigations and drafting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between initial alert detection and regulatory narrative writing, ensuring full compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), FinCEN requirements, and internal bank policies.

Job Description

  • -Review, monitor, and analyze daily transaction reports, logs, and data to detect unusual trends, large
  • currency movements, and potentially suspicious activity.
  • -Evaluate transactions for possible money laundering indicators such as unusual balance fluctuations,
  • structuring of cash deposits, unscheduled loan payments, suspicious monetary instrument purchases,
  • and unusual wire or ACH transfers.
  • -Investigate and analyze suspicious activity cases to determine if a SAR filing is warranted.
  • -Prepare, document, and draft comprehensive SAR / No-SAR narratives and determinations, ensuring
  • clear, concise justification for submission to the BSA Officer or Deputy BSA Officer.
  • -Perform analysis on customer and transaction data to identify trends and emerging risks.
  • -Track and follow up on outstanding Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • -Conduct ad-hoc or special investigations as assigned.
  • -Support and help train TM consultants and new team members in transaction monitoring procedures.

Qualifications

  • -Ability to manage multiple case files simultaneously and consistently meet strict regulatory deadlines.
  • -Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Criminal Justice or a related field preferred.
  • -CAMS designated candidates are preferred; but not required.
  • -3?5 years of direct experience in AML/BSA transaction monitoring
  • -Strong analytical, investigative, and data analysis skills, attention to detail, and ability to work
  • independently.
  • -Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems and AML compliance practices
  • -Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
