Job Summary

  • As a manager of Package and Design Development, you will be responsible for managing projects through direct contact with package suppliers.
  • The selected candidate will be an integral point person responsible for maintaining ongoing contact with sales staff, clients and internal cross-functional teams to develop and maintain all aspects of packaging for a customer’s launch, including but not limited to Cost, Aesthetic targets, Technical and Timing considering packaging and design developments.

  • Responsibilities
  • ? Source components and negotiate with suppliers, accounting for variables including design, capability, costing, quality assurance, etc.
  • ? Establish networking with new package vendors as well as existing for package search and sourcing to meet customer needs.
  • ? Ensure supply stability and price competitiveness of packages, and contributing to the success of projects through price consultation with suppliers.
  • ? Provide advice in case of internal/external inquiries through expert knowledge related to cosmetic packages.
  • ? Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • ? Ensure production is properly executed by establishing packaging standards and defect ranges with the customer's approval.
  • ? Apply knowledge of package development practices and processes to best meet client needs.
  • ? Handling administrative duties including making quotations, developing and managing timelines, keeping customer files, and finalizing package specifications.
  • ? Set pricing considering customer’s artwork.
  • ? Use strong problem-solving skills to answer customer questions and resolve design, lead time, cost and quality issues.
  • ? Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, design, schedule and costs
  • ? Hold meeting with salespeople, relevant teams and with customers independently.
  • ? Developing 3D and 2D designs by corresponding customer’s needs.
  • ? Research, design, and engineer for cosmetic packaging
  • ? Consult with marketing, chemists, and sales representatives to establish design concepts
  • ? Create 3D components and renderings utilizing Rhino and KeyShot programs
  • ? Create 2D artwork, concept renderings utilizing Photoshop and Illustrator programs
  • ? Preparing physical component samples and digital design data to clients for approval or modification and change
  • ? RP Mockup refinement for presentation
  • ? Make design proposals to the customer and issue the last design by customer’s approval.
  • ? Obtain customer's production design standard with completed package samples.
  • ? Deliver and manage customer designs to package manufacturers and agents until production is complete.
  • ? Request and manage package sampling for confirmed specification to package suppliers.
  • ? Review development samples, QA pcs and production samples
  • ? Provide commentary/feedback on product and packaging submissions to guide the client towards end development
  • ? Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Requirements
  • ? Eligibility to work in the USA;
  • ? Valid Driver’s License
  • ? Bachelor’s Degree in Product/Industrial Design or Graphic Design or related field
  • ? Ability to travel as required;
  • Qualifications
  • ? 3+ years’ experience in package sourcing and graphic design; significant relevant experience in package manufacturing, agent and package design
  • ? Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage upwards of 10 to 20 main projects simultaneously
  • ? Proven ability to drive package turnkey project, build relationships and excel in new package business development
  • ? Expert in Adobe products and Rhino program; highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • ? Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented
  • ? Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative
  • ? Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for graphics and fonts
  • ? Knowledge of plastics manufacturing
  • ? Knowledge of cosmetics/skincare is helpful but not necessary
