Job Summary
The Senior Buyer will establish and maintain effective and ethical business relationships with suppliers for all types of materials, supplies, services, and equipment required by the company. Must be able to manage vendors and product to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services that meet all our quality requirements at the best possible cost.
Job Description
- - Design/Develop specifications and source new packaging components for all new/revised products.
- - Handle claims related to packaging components by contacting suppliers and vendors.
- - Source new packaging material and vendors from overseas.
- - Work with Production for new packaging, resolve compatibility or quality issues with components by directly contacting supplier for compensations/replacements.
- - Complete cost estimations on sales quotations for packaging components
Qualifications
- - Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- - Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of purchasing/buying experience in a manufacturing setting (Required).
- - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
- - Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- - Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- - Able to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
- - Takes initiative and seeks additional training or direction as needed.
- - Must be willing to abide by our policies and procedures, including those that are safety-related.
- - Self-motivated individual willing to work hard, able to work in a group and alone, and be quality conscious.
- - Demonstrates a professional, team first attitude toward work and co-workers.
- - Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of tools and equipment.
- - Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking of English.
- - Perform other duties as assigned.
