About Our Client

Job Summary

The Director of Procurement will be responsible for developing strategy, implementing, and managing of our strategic sourcing process to include GPO management, contract and vendor management, procurement governance, category management and negotiations and other key initiatives. This individual will play an important role in the procurement transformation and will also be responsible for delivering against an annual savings target. This role will be expected to support a variety of spend categories, partner with executive corporate and market business leaders as well as develop and manage a high-performing team.

Job Description

  • - Develops, communicates and manages execution of sourcing and procurement strategies to support program, corporate, and client goals and objectives.
  • - Manages annual procurement budget and supplier base of vendors.
  • - Analyzes commodity and service requirements for all contracts/agreements.
  • - Creates requests for proposals (RFP) and reviews bids. Creates contract, negotiates terms, and implements services.
  • - Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors. Develops and implements strategies to optimize contract negotiations, contract renewals, invoicing and conducts visits to evaluate vendor performance. Resolves vendor disputes.
  • - Develops organization requirements regarding goods, services, supplies, equipment, etc.; establishes long-term and strategic procurement planning objectives.
  • - May design, develop and implement purchasing information systems.
  • - Prepares monthly reports of departmental activities.
  • - Serves as principal liaison between the company and client sourcing, procurement, legal and risk management departments.
  • - Manages and reports on related program KPI's and metrics.
  • - Provides support, coaching and leadership of other sourcing and procurement associates throughout the global network.
  • - Participates directly or indirectly and supports corporate global sourcing initiatives and processes.
  • - Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.
  • - Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • - Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.
  • - Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.
  • - Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.
  • - Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.
  • - Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
  • - Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry environment.
  • - Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
  • - Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • - Experience with e-procurement and contracts management technology platforms.
  • - Experience with standard accounting and/or ERP or SAP systems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • - Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Finance related field.
  • - Six (6) years of related experience in Purchasing, Sourcing or Contracting with experience in dietary/nutritional supplement manufacturing industry (Required).
  • - Three (3) years of previous management/supervisory experience (Required).
  • - Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.
